Guest Blog: On-Site Crushing with the CR450 Diesel Crusher
By Rob Edwards from Landscape Design and Construction
My clients bought a property that had been empty for a number of years. We were given the contract to sort the outside out, after major building work they were left with a mound of waste concrete, bricks and slabs.
It was going to cost a lot of money to shift it to the road side and pay for grab lorries to take it away. As rubble was going to be required for a large patio area and paths as part of the Landscape project it was clearly more cost effective and environmentally friendly as possible to crush the waste on site.
We always look to using local companies and British built equipment to assist us with our work. We came across Neil at JTC Crushing and he was very helpful and arranged for the Dragon Equipment CR450 Crusher to be available for us to use.
We run JCB excavators because they are British and were pleased to have a British built Crusher which was a brilliant bit of kit.
We ran the machine from 8am to 6pm all-day and only stopped it once to refuel around 4pm.
We found the CR450 Crusher very well made, good engineering and design with many good features and accessories like the added hydraulics for a breaker pack and the water feed to stop dust if required.
We thought the tracks struggled a bit with muddy conditions and a step would be useful for accessing the hopper.
In advance to the crusher arriving we used our breaker on the JCB to get the material to the right size for the crusher and piled it up out of the mud ready to feed the crusher.
This meant all we needed to do on the day was just load the crusher with the JCB.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this company and it's products and will be using the crusher on the next project.
Comment from Dragon Equipment: Thanks for taking the time be our guest blogger this month Rob. Its great to hear what a different the Crusher made to your job, and thank you for the honest, real-life feedback on the crusher!
